2013 Book Wrap-Up: Fehu's Favourites

The year started slow, but picked up at the end! I think I've become more picky this year, since there were not so many 5 stars that I've given books this year, I hope that will change next year! Also I think that 2013 is the year of the rise of audiobooks in the m/m romance genre. A lot of my old favorites were released as audiobooks and I've seen readers interest spike up. Now people ask for good audiobook recommendations and the narrator has become important and not just a good story.

Captive Prince Vol.1 by C.S Pacat
Fantastic series, best discovery this year (m/m fantasy). It's great to read a book with an enslaved prince that is not some simpering weakling/doll. The characters are fantastic and very complex as is the plot, which reminded me a bit of a game of chess. I cannot wait for book 3 to come out in 2014!

The Magpie Lord by KJ Charles
(paranormal, historical and a mystery)  -  I loved the story and the writing style!

Best one for the humour award is: The Trouble With Tony (Sex in Seattle, #1) The mystery is alright as well, but I laughed a lot while reading this one and the sequel was quite good as well.

A Casual Weekend Thing by A.J Thomas
Is the best contemporary mystery I've read this year.

Dance Only for Me (Dance with the Devil #6) by Megan Derr
Was my favorite paranormal mystery, I love that series and hope there will be more books coming out!

Was the best contemporary book I've read this year, which was also part of a great series!

  1. A Casual Weekend Thing was one of my favorite light contemporaries, too :)
