You, Me, & Yaoi #9: Cage In the Finder by Ayano Yamane

by Ayano Yamane
4.5 Pants Off

Blurb: Akihito Takara thought he left the cutthroat dangers of the Underworld behind after barely escaping his last adventure alive. However, he soon finds himself reunited with the mysterious and powerful crime lord Asami, and he is once again thrust into an unseemly world of decadence and bloodshed. Will Takara be lucky enough to escape a deadly fate twice in a row, or are Asami's plans for him of a more amorous nature? Also includes an erotic bonus story and an exclusive interview with author Ayano Yamane!

4.5 Pants Off

Thoughts: Cage in the Finder picks up where the first volume left off, Akihito is still out and about causing trouble. When he is approached by a detective wanting his help on how to find the infamous Asami, Akihito plays fool. Yet the detective talks him into going to one of Asami’s high end club, and once again Aki finds trouble with his camera and he also finds Asami. And of course Asami can’t let him leave without a good seeing to.  This volume also shares light on the mysterious and beautiful Fei Long, who is like the freaking love of my life. In depths look into how he came to know Asami, and the betrayal he felt at his hands. Now all the puzzle pieces are finally connecting, and things are getting exciting.

I really enjoyed this one a lot more, and the plot seems to be getting more excited. A lot less focus on sex in this volume, more character development and relationships which I really enjoyed. The art is of course fantastic and Asami is like super sexy and I love that playful way he has with Akihito. I just can’t get enough of them! I love how surpised Aki always is when he’s having with Asami “OMG, he’s gonna enter me” he is just so silly.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the volumes; because I can already see the drama unfolding and man do I want more Fei Long (nobody rocks all that hair like he does).

You, Me, & Yaoi #8: You Make My Head Spin by Kazuhiko Mishima

by Kazuhiko Mishima
4 Pants Off

Blurb: Shindo has just transferred into an extremely individualistic school. The ideal honor student, Shindo appears to sparkle with his perfect poise and presence. Yosuke, on the other hand, is the school delinquent preferring to spend his time hanging out on the school roof. But, Yosuke has a dark secret. The stereotypical tsundere, he may appear hostile on the outside, but his gruff hides a very sensitive interior - an interior that Shindo is determined to uncover!

4 Pants Off

Thoughts: I first read this manga online, but with the awesome prices from Yaoi Club, I knew I had to get my own copy. I am such a fan of high school romances in yaoi, its always cute, and with so much unnecessary angst that always makes me smile. You Make My Head Spin offers up just that.

Yosuke who thinks he’s all big and bad and Shindo who just comes in with his honesty and captures Yosuke’s heart. Throw in a couple crazy friends, a paranoid Yosuke (thinks someone’s trying to steal his man) and it’s just a down right good time.

It’s a light fun read with the craziness that can found in yaoi, and most of all it will make you smile. This manga would be perfect for beginner Yaoi readers, very light with the right amount of tenderness.

SideNote- Also comes with a bonus story

You, Me, & Yaoi: Yaoi Pushing & Recommendations

I started reading yaoi over three years ago, after the birth of my second son. I was home, he was sleeping a lot and my oldest was spending lots of time with his grandparents. I read the Twilight books at lightning speed, devoured the House of Night series (don’t freaking ask) and I just wanted something new. I have told this story before, but I will share it again.

I wanted to read M/M after reading about the of the chain chemistry between Vishous/Butch from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I wanted it bad! I got a few recs from some online friends, and I did a little search around by myself. Someone had mentioned Jet Mykles, and so I visited her website and she mentioned Yaoi. Googled that sucker and it was as if heaven opened up and let me in it’s arms of insanely awesmazing boy love. I could not believe I was blinded for so many years T_T I totally made up for it, by devouring and making my eyes happy. Yaoi was the shit and I was 100% addicted.

I found some good sites like Aarin Fantasy, and Mangafox, which provided me with all my yaoi needs. I spent a year reading as much as I could, and with no exaggeration I must have read close to a 1000 yaoi mangas *I freaking killed it*. So now, I had M/M and Yaoi together they created an addict and left me broke ass. I have never been happier.

So I wanna push my love of yaoi unto POR readers, yes suckers I said push. I am pusher, an enabler, unleashing the peer pressure. I am no expert, but I do have some favourites that have stuck with me, and I go back to re-read them again and again. If you haven’t read any yaoi before, then starting online would be your best bet that way you can’t lose. And if you love it, then…

My Recs!!!

Junjo Romantic by Nakamura Shungiku
One of my all time fave yaoi series. It's funny, sexy, and I just really want to be Misaki. If you aren't a fan of a 17 year old having sex with an older man then you shloud run from this one. There is dub-consent/non-consent, but it's a story that really evolves and in no time Misaki is 22 and him and Usagi have been together for years. Throw in family drama and jealousy, and you have the makings of a fun wild story. This was made into an anime series, which I also recommend. Just lots of fun.

Status: I believe the publisher for this series was shut down, so I don't think it's available for purchase. Do not worry you can read the series here. I have purchased up to Vol.12 and I am still broke.

Haru Wo Daiteita/Embracing Love by Youka Nitta
This one follows Iwaki and Kato in their over the top but very awesome love story. Both being famous actors and openly gay kind of speak true of the times right now. There were some skeptics, but people have embraced their love, and the series tells of their journey. Lots of ups and downs, but what makes this one stand out is the pure "balls to the walls" theme. Very explicit sex scenes that happen often, but they are so hot its porn art. Youka Nitta is an awesome artist, and I just love these guys so much.

Status: Another series unavailable for order, and very difficult to find online but you wouldn't be disappointed if you spent the time looking. I want to own these mangas so bad and will wait until they are available for re-release.

Update: Embracing Love will be available for purchase come August thanks to Sublime Manga. Are you freaking dead yet? cus I totally am. I am so freaking excited for this the world can't contain me.

Love Mode by Yuki Shimizu
Love Mode is old school but it's freaking awesome! Another one with young characters falling for an older man. It has a bit of everything, the unbelievable mixed with the "that could totally happen" and it's also very sweet. There's a lot of characters in this one but 4 main characters that you will come to know and love. All this revolving around an escort agency, it is all just made of awesome. I really just want to go read this one again.

Status: Yep, you guessed it unavailable for purchase. The good one are just out of order. Don't fret my pets you can read it online It is totally worth your time, and it's just so much fun.

The Prime Minister's Secret Diplomacy by Youka Nitta
Yep, Ms Nitta has made the list again, because she is made of awesome. I love the hell out of this manga and have been waiting for an update like a crack whore. This one is filled with twists and turns, and deep family betrayal, because one of the men is married to the other's sister O_O "oh yes" it's like that. Though you can say that Shiraishi had him first, he is still a very bad brother. It is both sexy and dangerous and you are on the edge trying to figure out how it's all gonna go down.

Status: Good news, you can buy this one and I did. It's frustrating because I want more but I don't know where to find it 'HELP'. Purchase at a most awesmazing price.

Love Pistols/Sex Pistols by Taroko Kotobuki
I love this for only one reason, MPREG. Yes, folks the men get pregnant and I love it, love it, love it. There is a whole lot of story in this series and a whole lot of characters, so you have to be paying serious attention. It's fun and wildly original and I just love the crap out of it.

Status: Can be purchased but in digital form only for now, and is published by recent yaoi press SuBLime Manga. Purchase

Tea for Two by Yaya Sakuragi
Another all time fave, this one featuring a love between two high-school aged boys. Both are as different as night and day. The distinguished Hasune from a wealthy well known tea house family. The brash Tokumaru, whose clumsy and a big oaf but he steals the heart of Hasune instantly. It's really beautiful to see their relationship progress and you will root for them until the end. So Sweet!!

Status: Unavailable for purchase but you can read it online, so it's still a win.

Groupie by Youka Nitta
This story is a testament to variety that can be found in yaoi. This one has siblings together but it's not exactly a healthy relationship. It deals with what can happen when three people enter into a relationship blind. Feelings get hurt, and I was deeply heartbroken at the end of it. There is also gender pushing, one character dresses like a woman but doesn't want to be a woman. Another winner by the ever fab Ms Nitta, who always bring the pretty and a solid story.

Status: Can be read online.

U Don't Know Me by RAKUN
Awesome, fantastic, and sexy as hell are just a few of the words to describe this manga. It is one of my all time faves and I constantly find myself going to have a peek at it. Another one featuring high-school aged boys on their way to university. Get ready for Seyun, he is so super pretty and wears clothes to tease, There is a bit about family, and it just wraps up in a beautiful story about best-friends finally admitting to their love.

Status: You can read it online but can be found for purchase.

Complex by Manda Ringo
First of all, don't let the cover fool you. I avoided this one like the plague because of the cover and it was a mistake. This might be the best manga I have ever read! I literally broke down in tears at the end of this one it was just so insanely good.

The book shows the life of two friends from age five until their old (up to 80 or so). Each chapter titled after their age, we experience all their ups and downs and man there are downs. It still does have that craziness of most yaoi but also with a realistic feel. Nothing is ever easy for the boys, and they have to fight for each other in the end. It really is quite breathtaking and the best yaoi I have ever read. I Kid You Not!!

Status: Incredibly hard to find but it would be worth the search.

I believe there is yaoi manga for everyone the hard part is getting through them all. I have read some crappy, others that were ok, and others that are just made of pure awesome. This list is just a tip of the iceberg for my faves, so I will be updating as time goes by. Been thinking about reading yaoi? Check out the websites and find something that is to your taste, it’s the most fun way to pass the time.

You, Me, & Yaoi #7: Border by Kazuma Kodaka

by: Kazuma Kodoka
4.5 Pants Off

Blurb: Yamato runs a detective agency that will use any means to get the job done, no matter how unconventional. His three misfit employees are more than his teammates, they’re his family too. Also tells the dramatic and surprising story of Yamato’s past.

4.5 Pants Off

Thoughts: I love, love, love Kazuma Kodaka! This mangaka has given me some of my fave reads, Kizuna, Bad Teachers Equation. So when I saw Border, I was on it like white on rice. I love this story a hella lot and I just can’t wait to see where it takes me.

Yamato life hasn’t necessarily been good, but he’s always had his little family that loves him to death. Now they run a small detective agency, that breaks all the rules and look pretty as hell doing it. Basically, it tells the story of how Yamato came to be, and his losses and gains along the way.

I like Ms Kazuma’s writing because I never know what I am going to get. It’s not just smut and artwork; there is always a real story with larger than life characters. The stereotypes that can be sometimes found in Yaoi doesn’t usually show up in a Kazuma Kodaka manga. There’s a realistic representation of all types of men, though the situations sometimes is hardly realistic.

Its not always about the gripping story line, because sometimes its all about the sexy. Border is freaking sexy and brings the bromance like crazy. I can’t wait to read the following volumes and get lost in Yamato, Tamaki, Kippei, and Sohgo

If you love Yaoi and haven’t read this one yet, then I recommend that you do.

You, Me, & Yaoi #6: I Can't Stop Loving You

By: Row Takakura
3.5 Pants Off

Blurb: Kyouji is a Buddhist exorcist, although he can't see ghosts his best friend and lover, Yu, can Maybe they'd go all the way if Yu's incredible supernatural strength could be held in check. How can a steamy, sexy relationship survive such obstacles?

3.5 Pants Off

Thoughts: With reading Yaoi you have to remember that it's all for good fun. Sometimes shit don’t make sense and the characters say some crazy things that wouldn’t work anywhere else. No matter how crazy I found I Can’t Stop Loving You it hasn’t been craziest thing I have read from yaoi.

Kyouji is an exorcist and a Buddhist monk in training. He is in relationship with his best friend Yu and they are in all kinds of blissful love. They want their relationship to go to the next level but whenever Kyouji and Yu get all up close and personal Yu’s super human strength always leave Kyo in pain. Sometimes it’s a cracked rib or really painful scratches, and due to his pain, they can never consummate their love.

Throw in some evil spirits, spirit possessions, and the most interrupted sex scenes ever and you have yourself a funny and charming read. I found this one to be cute, and a little sexy, and I really like Yu he is one of the best ukes ever. I really enjoyed that he wants Kyo a lot and wasn’t even embarrassed about it. Sometimes the bottoms in yaoi can be so annoying and in denial (Misaki I am talking to you).

Overall, enjoyed reading it because it was cute and made me laugh a few times. Originality not there, but what the hell the most fun way to past time is to read some boy love.

You, Me, & Yaoi Cut #5: Target in the Finder

By: Ayano Yamane
Rating: 4 out of 5

Blurb: During a routine journalism assignment, Akihito Takara is captured by the mysterious Asami, a powerful leader in Japan's underworld society. Asami forces his captive to undergo a night of pleasure and pain never before imagined, but before long, the son of a powerful Chinese mafia boss also sets his sights upon Akihito, demanding the critical evidence he's uncovered-or is it something else about him he seeks? Includes three erotic bonus stories and an interview with author Ayano Yamane.

4 Pants Off

Thoughts: I have been dying to read the finder series, for like forever. Crucial situation, I was missing Vol.1, but then I got it and I could not wait a minute longer. So the anticipation was high, because through the yaoi grapevine, this series is one of the best, and I was excited in my pants. Am I slightly disappointed? Perhaps! Could my feelings change? Oh, you bet your sweet ass they will, after all its only volume 1.

Aki is a freelance photographer, trying to make a name for himself behind his viewfinder. He’s naïve and has no understanding that when you want to play with the big boys, you have to be prepared for their big boy toys (ahem, it’s as pervy as it sounds). Aki gets a story on something he has no business taking pics of, and his little ‘I wanna make a name for myself’ lands him in the web of Asami. Sexy crime boss extraordinaire, and too freaking sexy for a damn drawing.

What is it you do when boys are naughty? You punish them of course, and for all that is sweet and holy Asami punishes Aki. Here it comes the plot line that makes it so very yaoi. Aki gets tied up, and Asami uses him like a cum rag. All dirty and ‘wait a moment isn’t this wrong’ because I don’t think he consented to this sex. It depends on how you view it, and I gotta say I have no problems with it but I kind of think that Aki should be really pissed. However, he’s a simple boy, with simple problems.

Then comes the man I have knighted as my manga boyfriend Fei Long. Good grief I love that long hair, and those fine features and I did mention he also went for a ride on the turn style that is Aki. That boy gets his ass into some serious situations, and I do mean his ass.

It has the typical Seme/Uke thing going on. Where Asami never takes his clothes off during sex and the cigarette is always hanging from the side of his mouth. Hey, Asami are you gonna smoke them or are they just decorations. You could save a lot of money if you just smoked the freaking things. Aki, I like! He will forever be in denial that Asami turns him on and the question ‘but I’m a man?’ loses all value. We know you’re a man Aki, and so does Asami.

There are three bonus stories, which offer up some really hot sex scenes but add nothing to the manga. Its just really great smut and folks I am not complaining. With art this beautiful, I will just cry on the inside and salivate over its awesomeness.

I am super excited to read the rest of the volumes, because I just know some serious stuff is gonna go down. I am also deeply interested to see who else will have sex with Aki. Asami will your clothes remain on; will you ever smoke all of one cigarette? I am going to find out folks.

You, Me & Yaoi: Cut #4

By: Kiriko Fuwa
Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Blurb:
Koutaro is a carefree young temp worker, while Asahi is seven years older and an elite salaryman. Due to Asahi's busy schedule, the two men can only be together for two weekends every month. When Koutarou accidentally breaks Asahi's glasses, the incident reveals Asahi's vulnerable side, and he realizes that the glasses are something his lover needs "so much that he can't live on normally without them"; now Koutarou wishes he could be that important to Asahi...

3 1/2 Pants Off

Thoughts: I really wanted to give this one more than 3.5. However, in the end most of the stories were just ‘Meh’.

The first three stories: Weekend Lovers, Selfish Weekend, and Selfish Weekend Extra. Focuses on the same couple, a temp worker (Koutarou) and top business salary man (Asahi). They both have different work schedules, so sometimes they can only meet up on the weekend. When Asahi ask Koutarou to bring dinner for him one night. Koutarou finds out that his lover hasn’t been keeping late hours by himself and maybe their relationship isn’t as strong as he thought.

I liked this story, but I didn’t really love it.

Fragments of Glass and Dark Wate
r, is a somewhat dark one-shot. It deals with two men who work at a video rental store. Oikawa-san the store manager is having some serious erotic fantasies about his employer Yuuji. Yuuji is completely unaware of his boss’s feelings. Until one night in the video store, all becomes clear.

I was mildly surprised by this one O_O.

Cage gives us a little blackmail and payment in sex. When an employer catches his boss cozying it up with another employer. He decides he wants a little nookie for him to keep his silence.

This one was ok. Nothing really impressive.

Right of Passage, Road to Love
, is definitely my fave in the entire book. It is also a little outrageous and so funny. I freaking wished it were longer. I am a huge fan of school life yaoi.

Servant and Service, has some cross-dressing and a butler. Really cute and sweet story.

Overall, an all right amount of stories. The boy love was medium, and the upside of this is that it’s only $6 bucks on the retailer site. Can you say Deal!!!

You, Me & Yaoi: Cut #3

By: Shiuko Kano
Rating: 3 out of 5
Blurb: Affair is a collection of short stories from a manga-ka whose men ooze testosterone. Shuiko Kano has never been shy about portraying real adult relationships and while Affair is a bit more subtle than her usual fair, it is by no means an exception.

Yoshiyuki and Haruomi, teammates on a high school baseball team, discover their feelings for each other years after their golden days. Will a chance reunion blossom into an unexpected love? Kyouichi and Hijiri find out that there are things thicker than blood ties in the world of the yakuza. Will these two yakuza sons discover that they have more in common than underworld business dealings? Takei and Hirose put their luck to the test in a mahjong game that will decide that fate of their jobs. But is there more than just money on the line? Yagi's driver's education teacher, Tamiya, seems to have more on his mind than just the usual student-teacher relationship... Is Yagi above showing a little skin to pass his test?

3 1/2 Pants Off

Thoughts: This manga is a series of one-shots (short stories), and I tend to hate one-shots not because they suck but because sometimes they are so good they need a freaking book to themselves. So is the case with this manga, too much angst and not enough story to make it work. Short stories should be fun, sweet, and smutty and things get solved. When there’s an intense story line, everything just feels too rushed and makes no freaking sense.

The first story Affair that is my favourite in the whole manga, deals with high school lovers who reunite after quite sometime. This story also contains my biggest peeve. Things usually get over looked in yaoi very easily, like cheating and overall douche bagginess. I can’t let this slide though, if there is sex going on in my bed then it better me who’s having it.  That deserves a drop kick of epic proportions.

My Dear Mad Dog is the story that should have been longer. There is just too much going on, all that angst and not enough pages for it. It does have my fave drawing in the whole entire book. Believe it took a lot for them to get there (check the end of post).

One Lucky Guy and Love Machine are sweet and fluffy goodness, with some slight angst and all the boy drama you can think of.  The sex isn’t overly explicit; you see what you need to.

Overall, I liked it and loved the epilogue at the end that’s a short follow up to the first story. The art is good, and Kano draws some beautiful males.

I Love This!!

You, Me & Yaoi: Cut #2

By: Barbara Katagiri
3.5 out of 5
Blurb:  Tatsuro, a good-looking yakuza who turns every head, is looking for a benefactor to take on his debts. Seizing that opportunity is Sagami, president of a large bank. However, even with all the wealth and power he could imagine, Sagami only wants Tatsuro!

3 1/2 Pants Off

Thoughts:
Tatsuro is having a bad life, the Yakuza life style is on the down and outs. What’s a man to do when all he knows, is how to intimidate people out of their money. He has always known a poor life, and at one point the life of a gangster was good, now he gets no respect and he is broke ass.

Well Tatsuro is on a mission to get 8 million that someone owes his gang, but the person is an old man he met when he was younger. This person took him in and tried to lead him down the straight and narrow. This seems like the ultimate betrayal to go in and make demands to a man unable to pay up, plus it was someone who treated him kindly before.

Well T is in a dilemma, how is he gonna come up with 8 million? Well he gets drunk thinking about how he’s gonna come up with the money. While completely wasted he runs into an old friend from high school and tells him his problem.

In comes Sagami a wealthy business man who has always loved Tatsuro, his love is in trouble so he offers up the money. Well his loan comes with serious collateral. If Tatsuro can’t pay then he is going to have to sleep with Sagami. Tatsuro agrees and here begins the life of Sleeping With Money.

Tatsuro was hilarious, denying he loves having sex with Sagami to the end, even though he loves it. Plus he wears the most ridiculous suits known to man, just can’t let go of the Yakuza life. Sagami is your typical alpha male, he protects whats his, and sleeping with Tatsuro was never about the money, but T is so stubborn it had to be about something.

This was my first yaoi novel and it wont be my last, so funny and sexy like only yaoi can be. This had few illustrations, so its not a manga. A good read overall.

You, Me & Yaoi! Cut #1

So this will be the first post of many posts for You, Me and Yaoi (yes the cheese factor is high). I am so excited to be doing this, reading yaoi is my drug of choice and there's always something to talk about. I am no yaoi expert, but they are fun and the artwork is beautiful. So I hope fans, and others who aren't familiar with the genre stop by and have a look.

ZE Vol.1 by Yuki Shimizu
4 out of 5
Blurb:
If Fruits Baskets was done as a yaoi manga, it might look something like this... Raizo has recently moved into a strange mansion upon the death of his last living relative. Given room and board in exchange for taking over the household chores for the half dozen residents, Raizo slowly comes to realize that the house is hiding some pretty dark secrets. Are his housequests more than what they appear? And will his attraction to the lord and master Kon prove hazardous to his health?

Thoughts:
Like 'what the feck'! I don’t know why it took me so long to read this; I should have taken the hint because it’s by the same Mangaka who created one of my all time faves ‘Love Mode’. So I dived into this one with a somewhat high expectation of awesmazingness, and I freaking got it.

Raizo is trying to make it after losing his beloved grandmother. He takes the position as a housekeeper in a house full of some unusual but very attractive men ‘and women’. The job is easy enough, cook, clean, and keep things organized. If only simple meant that there was no man in the strange creepy mask, no crazy talk about curses, and the fact that he just watched someone’s arm get ripped off and put back together again ‘huh’. Talk about an unusual household.

So Raizo is in over his head, seems that everyone is sort of doll and is used to heal the person they belong to. It becomes all sorts of crazy from there, and Raizo is wishing his grandma were there, to keep the crazy away.

I loved this unusual little manga. I found it hilarious and definitely, a series I will be continuing.  I can’t wait to see what becomes of Raizo and his potential mate. Though it feels very light and easy now, I have a feeling things are gonna get tense and interesting. Happy I took a chance on this manga!
